The Equal Pay Act 1970 stipulates that people should be paid the same regardless of their gender.

In practice that might not always be the case.

There remains a large pay gap in the UK between men and women’s wages.

It is often cited that there is an 18% pay gap in the UK with a women earning on average 82p for every £1 earned by a man.

It may seem incredible to most observers but in the UK  despite living in a modern politically correct world, many women receive lower salaries for doing exactly the same job as a male co-worker.
